breakaway question

I broke down the walls and tore up the skies
into square patches of amnesia.
Thought you were transient, like everyone
and your slow moves'll fade quietly.

But you come through the murky rains, darling,
burning veins with acid and cold.
Would you've stopped back then, at start
if I said, size of me was wrong?

Hear me not, sweetness, for I'm scared
of things meant to live by.
Say, were you ever heading for normalcy,
were you even expecting love?
